Women Impacting the Community founder, Wendy Navarro, awards influential women in the community.
Hendersonville, TN, March 1, 2023 -- Navarro Creative Group CEO, Wendy Navarro, is a very important figure in the Sumner County community. She not only is one of the few female CEOs, but is also the founder of the Women Impacting the Community organization. On February 14th, 2023, she, alongside the other members of the organization, hosted their 15th annual awards luncheon at Bluegrass Country Club in Hendersonville, TN. The luncheon celebrates women in the community who have had a significant impact.
Emcee Holly Thompson oversaw the night’s activities which included a special performance by Teresa Sholar, and speeches given by members of the organization, Britney Campbell, Kirbee Miller, and TIffany Napper. The event was a smashing success. Five candidates were selected for awards in the five categories: education, healthcare, nonprofit, professional, and young professional. Jennifer Kotler won in Education, Cassandra Cooper in Healthcare, Julie White in Nonprofit, Fran Marcou in Professional, and Bridgette Winsted in Young Professional.
“I really am proud to present these awards to them,” said founder, Wendy Navarro. “They all worked extremely hard to earn them.”
Women Impacting the Community is a civilian led organization whose main goal is to recognize and encourage women in the community for their efforts. It was founded in 2014 by Wendy Navarro, who felt that local women were not getting enough credit. Thus Women Impacting the Community was born. The organization has since held an annual awards luncheon, among other events, to recognize the prominent females of Sumner County. Since 2014, the organization has grown massively, and has recognized over 75 women for their impact.
